How can you use the materials to design and build a working pencil box that follows all the task constraints?

constraints of the pencil boxes

• Build a box that will hold at least 6 full size pencils
• The box must have a lid that closes. The lid can be attached to the box and hinge open or it can be removable.
• The box must have a handle so that the box can be carried

Constraints - continued

• The lid of the box must stay closed when the box is picked up by the handle, so a latch is needed.
• The box must support the weight of the pencils when it is lifted.
• it is also important that the box is a size that will fit in a desk or locker.
• You may decorate the box with time remaining after you have completed and tested it.

Material Constraints

• 2 pieces of card stock
• 6 - 8 craft sticks
• 1 pipe cleaner
• 2 feet of tape either masking or scotch
• Glue and art supplies as needed
• 6 new pencils
