- Females who get pregnant or become pregnant are entitled to certain rights

- Everyone is protected by sexual discrimination by any state or local agency that is ED funded
- OCR enforces, identifies and remedies sex discrimination Title IX
- No one can retaliate against another person if they are not compliant with Title IX
Jacob Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Act
Facts
- Passed 1988 as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act
- Not required by all schools
- Created to support the development of talented students in US schools

- Students who are believed by the school to have high achievement capabilities
- Students support their individual creative, intellectual, artistic, or leadership capacity in this program
Results..
- Positive outcomes that have effected the school and communites
- Students who are more knowledgable in fields not strictly related to the classroom

- about the National Research Venter on the Gifted and Talented
- Grants given to develop and expand their Gifted and Talented Programs
- Having a program like this is an asset to the school, especially for high achieving students

- Students cannot graduate from 12th grade without being proficient in English
- Meeting required language skills must be done as soon as possible as to not deaden their educational track
