Scoliosis overview
Scoliosis is a disorder where the spine curves and makes a "S" or "C"
Can be treated by a back brace, surgery, therapy, or other options.
Usually shows up around adolescence or childhood
I chose this topic because I wanted to learn more about it.

3 main types
Idiopathic scoliosis-most common type, 8x more likely to happen to girls, may be hereditary.
Congenital Scoliosis- When in the womb, the spine fails to form completely or forms improperly.
Neuromuscular scoliosis-when the spine discs and bones break away during adulthood,
Or because of certain diseases like cerebral palsy

What are symptoms?
Ways to tell you might have it is...
Uneven chest ,waist, or legs
Back pain, bump on lower back
Numbness in legs, loss of height, or breathing problems

Ways to get it?
Diseases or infection(cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, or tumors)
Injuries or different leg lengths
Idiopathic scoliosis seems to run in the family the most
If a relative has scoliosis it increases the chances of a child inheriting it
Most cases of scoliosis are unknown

Treatment
A custom made back brace
Surgery(doctors recommend only in serious cases)
Eletrical stimulation
Treatment depends on the gender, size, age.
Also the location & direction of the curve and type of scoliosis

Chiropractor
Chiropractors work with the spine to adjust or eliminate misalignments.
They work with the spine to remove anything that may cause health problems.
