Paleontology is the study of fossils that can tell us about the past.
Paleontology also includes biology, geology, ecology, anthropology, and archaeology.

Paleontologists study body fossils and trace fossils that could range anywhere from dinosaur bones, seashells, and human bones. Trace fossils can tell us if their was an organism living on this land at one time.
