GENITAL WARTS

  • You obtain genital warts by having sex with someone who has the virus, even if you can’t see any warts. It can take years before any genital warts show. Genital warts are common and easily passed on to someone else. It's common for people to realise that they have genital warts years or months after actually getting them.
  • Genital warts are viruses because they multiply into living cells and take them over.

GENITAL WARTS

  • Signs and symptoms. The warts may be very small and the color of the skin or a bit darker. The top of the growths may look like a cauliflower and may feel smooth or slightly bumpy to the touch. An infected person may have lots of warts, or just one wart. Genital warts on males may appear on the following areas: penis scrotum groin thighs inside or around the anus Genital warts in females may appear on the following area: inside of the vagina or anus outside of the vagina or anus cervix
  • Treatment against genital warts. Vaccines can protect against genital warts. Genital warts can be treated with prescription medication applied straight to the warts or can be surgically removed. A young person can seek support from their doctor, or a family member that they would be comfortable around.
  • Ways to avoid genital warts.
  • Wear condom ( not 100% affective )
  • Don't have sex with strangers or prostitutes.
  • Speak to your doctor about sti's often.

PUBIC LICE

  • Other names for pubic lice.
  • Crabs ( the most common name )
  • How are pubic lice passed on? Pubic lice usually spread through sexual contact and are most common in adults. Pubic lice found on children may be because of sexual abuse. Pubic lice may be passed on by contact with things such as clothing, bed linens, or towels that have been used by an infested person.
  • Are public lice bacterial or viral? Pubic lice are different from other STI'S. It's not a virus and it's not a bacteria. Pubic lice are living creatures, parasites that are passed from one person to another. They are very similar to the normal nits that you get in your hair.

  • Pubic lice symptoms include: Itchy around the genital area. Super small bugs in your pubic hair. Crab eggs on the bottom part of your pubes. Dark spots on the skin where pubic lice are living. Feeling feverish, run down or annoyed.
  • Treatment for pubic lice. There's actually a lice-killing lotion. This product is available at the counter, without a prescription at a local drug store or pharmacy. Young people can seek help from their local doctor or even just go to the pharmacist and pick up the lice killing lotion themselves.
  • How to prevent getting pubic lice.
  • To prevent pubic lice infestation, avoid having sex or sharing bedding or clothing with anyone who has the STI. If you are getting treated for pubic lice, all sexual partners must also be treated. do this to prevent obtaining pubic lice all over again.

GONORRHOEA

  • Other names for gonorrhoea. It's sometimes also spelled gonorrhea.
  • How is it spread? Gonorrhoea is passed on by sexual contact with an infected person. This includes oral, anal, and vaginal sex. It can also spread from a mother to a child during birth.
  • Is it bacterial or viral? Gonorrhoea caused by bacteria called Neisseria gonorrhoeae or gonococcus. The bacteria are mainly found in discharge from the penis and in vaginal fluid.

  • Signs and symptoms of gonorrhoea. It can have no symptoms, but people may feel: Pain areas: in the lower abdomen, pelvis, testicle, or vagina Pain times: can occur during sexual intercourse or during urination Groin: abnormal vaginal discharge, discharge from penis, or increased vaginal discharge Also common: fever, frequent urge to urinate, pus, or sore throat.
  • Treatment for gonorrhoea. Gonorrhoea is treated easily with anti biotics.

  • How to prevent getting gonorrhoea. Wearing a condom is the most affective way to prevent gonorrhoea, besides not having sex at all of course.
