A few changes

Doors

• Mon - Thurs 8 - 4
• Friday 8 - 2:15
• Students are escorted from the building (Parents contacted)
• Clubs/Teams students are monitored until pickup
• No unsupervised students in the school

Attendance

• Attendance taken at the beginning of class
• Unexcused absences (parent unaware)= parents are notified that day
• Leaving class for extended time = unexcused absence (UA)
• 3-4 UA = student/teacher meeting

Attendance continued

• 5-6 UA = student/teacher/student services/admin meeting (SRG group)
• 7-8 UA = attendance contract revisited
• Parents are responsible for notifications regarding excused absences.

Late

• A late is when the student arrives after attendance.
• 30 minutes late = an absence.

Drills

• Most drills are unknown
• This means your teacher won't know when most happen.

Fire Drill

• Bell sounds
• head to muster spot
• Attendance (green/red card)
• Dial back the crazy

Lock Down Overview

• Announcement
• Student phones off

• Wait until door is opened
• Students may be pulled into another room if unsupervised.

Tornado SafeTy

• Interior walls
• No windows
• No large rooms (gym)
• Lowest floor possible
• Stairwell okay
• Child's pose with hands covering neck.

Grade 5/6s Playground Use

• Monday - Thursday
• 11:35 to 11:56
• If space, teachers might allow additional Westmount students.
• After 11:56, playground cleared of all Westmount Students.
