Mexico worried
Even though Haden Edwards failed to set. Up an independent Republic of Fredonia in Texas, leaders in Mexico were worried that other Texas would rebel.They sent General Manuel Mier y Tehran to travel throughout Texas and its report back on what he observed there.He saw several things that worried him.

Law of April 6,1839
The government of Mexico created the Law of April 6,1830 with the following impact. 1. Immigration from the U.S. to Texas was stopped. 2. Any Texas emphesarios that still had land to sell had to give up that land. 3. Outlawed bringing slaves to Texas. 4. Placed a tax on imported Goods. Mexico also sent more into Texas building five new military posts.

Other Changes
The Law of April 6 angered many Texas. Things got worse when Mexico army officer Captain Juan Davis BradBurn was sent to enforce the new rules in Texas. After one dispute, Bradburn arrested two Americans Patrick Jack and William B Travis but didn’t change them with any crime 160 Texas settlers went and demanded they be released. Bradburn refused.

Turtle Bayou Resolutions
Turtle Bayou Resolutions. A resolution is firm decision taken by a group of people. The resolution said that Mexico was not following its own construction and they asked for reforms or changes, in the government. Texas started they were loyal to Mexico, they weren’t rebelling, and instead they were putting their full support behind Santa Anna.
