ABIOTIC FACTORS

  • The abiotic factors in a temperate forest are the ground, soil, air, sun, and clouds.

ANIMALS

  • There are many kinds of animals in a temperate forest.
  • Most of the animals survive in this place.

ANIMALS IN A TEMPERATE FOREST

  • flying squirrel
  • eastern gray squirrel
  • wood mouse
  • black bears
  • skunks
  • deer
  • mountain lion
  • rabbit

The connection of the abiotic factors to the animals are: The animals walk on the ground. They need water. They need air.

HOW WILL ANIMALS ADJUST TO THE CLIMATE OF TEMPERATE FOREST

A temperate forest is a kind of forest that has (4) four seasons. The seasons here are winter, summer, fall, and spring. The temperate forest is the second largest biome in the planet. The climate of the temperate forest is highly variable depending on the location of the forest. The East Coast deciduous forests retain their deciduous nature largely due to the excessive freezing days each winter.

The animals in the temperate forest are the flying squirrel, dormouse, eastern gray squirrel, and wood mouse. Most of the animals in the temperate forest can survive or adjust. The animals survive in a temperate forest because they have different ways and they can adjust easily in different ways. There are a wide variety of animals that live here including black bears, mountain lion, deer, fox, squirrel, skunks, rabbits, porcupine,
timber wolves, and a number of birds.

The abiotic factors are the sun, water, soil, and ground. The animals in the temperate forests have their own protection. Their big bodies have stored fat that keeps them warm and alive. The connection of the climate and the animals is that the latter need fat and they need to adjust to the former. If the animals do not store fat they might not survive. The connection of the abiotic factors and biotic factors is that the plants need sunlight and water while the animals need the ground for them to stay.

Trivia
Did you know?
Some animals of the temperate deciduous biome cannot survive winter so they lay eggs before they die.
