Lungs- help oxygen from the air we breathe enter the red blood cells in the blood. They also help the body eliminate carbon dioxide when we breathe out.
Trachea- connects the larynx to the bronchi of the lungs.
Bronchi- carry air from the trachea into the lungs.
Diaphragm- separates the chest cavity from the abdomen.
For my project, I did an interactive model of the Respiratory System. First, I cut a circular hole at the bottom of a large plastic jar. Next, I made the lungs, trachea, and bronchi by using straws, ballons, paint, and rubber bands.
Then, I put the trachea through the hole I made at the bottom of the jar and put clay to put it in place. Lastly, I replaced the lid with a ballon to represent the diaphragm.
It Skeletal System interacts with the Respiratory System by providing support, protection, and structure. For example, the rib cage protects the lungs.
