Furniture designer

A Furniture Designer is someone who designs and creates different types of furniture. Each piece created must serve a few separate purposes. It must be functional, practical, comfortable, and lastly it must be attractive.

What the artist does

• Create functional/decorative objects using different methods and materials
• Develop concepts and ideas for their designs
• create prototypes/models of their ideas
• develop designs using specialized computer software

• Knowledge of computer aided Design(CAD)
• strong visual awareness
• Good comunication skills and flexibility

Education Requirements:
In order to get a job in this field one must have a Bachelors or Masters degree in furniture design.
