PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE LIFE AND ART OF JOAN MINTZ

The life and art of

"LIFE IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN

You are busy making plans."

JOAN MINTZ CAME INTO THIS WORLD A MIRACLE

BORN DECEMBER 24, 1946

HER MOTHER GAVE BIRTH TO HER IN THE BACK SEAT OF A CAR.

THE CHILD OF HOLOCAUST ESCAPEES

TO CREATE MAGICAL MOMENTS

SHE WOULD BURST INTO THIS WORLD

HER SISTER EVIE

Would always be close to her.

AND AT THE AGE OF TEN

Joan became a big sister to Karen.

High school prom with Marc (1964)

At age fifteen she met the love of her life

"FAIRY DUST"

JOAN POSSESSED MATHEMATICAL ABILITIES

that made her an artist in the truest sense

She loved structure, order and beauty

(Pictured here with her father Henry Gutman)

Joan graduated with a degree in Art Education

She became everyone's favorite art teacher.

Seafort High School 1968 (can you find Joan?)

She married Marc Mintz on June 21, 1970

True love began on that day

THEIR UNION WOULD RESULT IN TWO CHILDREN

And five grandchildren (so far) ...

They made magical moments together for 43-years.

Moments of adventure.

Moments of joy.

Moments of daring.

(Like when she met the Beatles)

Moments that matter.

She built a life around family

And surrounded herself with love.

The family became complete (for now).

Joan planted the seeds of joy in her children

And watched them grow into kids she took pride in

With the love and support of sisters

SHE LIVED FOR HER Family AND HER ART

Eventually she returned to art education

She created imaginary worlds

That provided colorful reflections to our own

Always so proud of her kids

Truer joy could not be found

Then when Joan Mintz talked about family

She showed us beauty

And the preciousness of each day

She lived to see generations

The future artists (here with Shoshana Mintz)

HER MEMORY inspires CREATION

(Shana made this outfit for Wonder Woman bear)

Spirituality just takes a bit of trust

Trust that we'll be okay

Trust that we are truly blessed

Trust in the love of our family

Trust in celebrations of the spirt

and the family that accompanies you

WE wiLL all MISS YOU JOAN Mintz.

Trust that our lives have made an impact.
