ADJECTIVEs

How to translate them from Latin to English

ADJECTIVES AND NOUNS

  • Adjectives must match nouns in:
  • Number
  • Case
  • Gender
  • They don't need to match in spelling

For example...
Haec pictura est pulchra.
Notice how pictura and pulchra match in number (singular), case (nom), and gender (feminine).
They also happen to match in spelling.

SOME MORE EXAMPLES...

  • Gladiator bestias feroces agitabat

  • Quintus fabulam mirabilem narravit
