  • Fire resistant bark
  • Needles help with dry summers

ALPINE FLOOWERS

  • Long roots help get water
  • Structure of leaves helps hold water

HERRBIVORES

  • Thick boney skull prevents injuries
  • Chews own cud
  • Have hard hooves that cut into the ground

AMERICAN PIKA

  • Fury paws helps with traction
  • Thick brown fur and round body shape helps hold heat
  • Dry out grass for food

SIERRA MOUNTAIN BEAVER

  • Thick fury coat to keep warm
  • Claws are made for digging
