  • Used Model of developmental potential
  • Intellective component: intellectual oE
  • Non-intellective components: other OVEREXCITABILITIES
  • 26 girls and 23 boys, Aged 12-17
  • Identified gifted by test scores, grades and teacher nominations
  • 28 gifted adults (21 women, 7 men)
  • Identified by Mensa Membership or Gre, sat or IQ scores.
  • 19 Artists (12 women , 7 Men)
  • Identified as writers, poets, singers, film producers, choreographers, graphic designer and weaver
  • 42 non-gifted grad students from all fields

RESULTS

SENSUAL AND PSYCHOMOTOR

  • Sensual Lower in adolescence
  • Sensual Possibly tied to age
  • Psychomotor not significantly different in the samples

  • Imaginational
  • Emotional
  • Intellectual
  • Intellective was seen as abilities aNd drive to pursue questions
  • Adults and adolescence gifted had these characteristics

3 OE CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Can be Modes of advanced function
  • Thought of as information flow
  • Can be narrow or wide
  • Having both Emotional and IMAGINATIONAL may be true indicators of creativity and productivity

3 OVEREXCITABILITIES

  • Not all may be present
  • Likely two will be
  • Lower scores overlap with non-gifted
  • Much individual variation

OVEREXCITABILITIES are not areas of competence but instead, the kind of endowment that feeds, nourishes, enriches, empowers, and amplifies a talent to be more than a bare computational device.--
