This presentation is here to teach you about internet safety. I do hope you're paying close attention, because you may not have heard of some of these facts before.
I'm guessing most people don't want strangers looking at their profiles, right? So to prevent this, you should change your profile settings so only your real friends can see them.
They may not be who they say they are. If they say they are one of your friends and you don't think they are, you can ask your friend if they have an account on that site or not.
And you should NEVER meet someone you met online in real life unless your parents are there.
Location apps can be both good and bad. They can help you find friends at a concert or such, but they can also broadcast your location to strangers. So try to avoid public location sharing if you decide to use one of these apps.
If you receive an email with an attachment from someone you don't know, don't open the attachment. it could possibly contain a virus that could break your computer.
Never open an email attachment from someone you don't know.
So there are a lot of social networking sites out there, like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, just to name a few.
These sites have a certain age you have to be before you can join. These age requirements are here for a reason! They are to protect you and your personal information from hackers and other bad people on the internet.
Remember those social networking sites I mentioned earlier? Well, they all let you post pictures in some way or another. A lot of people choose to post pictures of themselves.
Don't post pictures of yourself online without permission from a parent/ guardian. some people just might try to track you down using that picture!
