What is probability

Probability is how likely something is to happen

HOW DO DETERMINE THE LIKELIHOOD OF AN EVENT?

  • You have to make a fraction
  • Also on the top of the fraction is number of favorable outcomes
  • And on the bottom is the total number of out comes
  • Say you have a coin so there are two sides so you would have to put
  • 1/2 right next to the fraction

What is a complement?
All outcomes that are not the event

What is the difference between theoretical and experimental probability?
Theoretical= number of favorable outcomes
Experimental= number of times event occurs

Here are some ex.
Coins: heads over tails= 1/2
Spinner: of ways to land on yellow over total # of colors= 1/4
