JOB DUTIES

• Maintain security within the institution
• Maintain proper security of inmates being transported
• Maintain master inmate location counts
• Oversee the health and safety of staff and prisoners
• Check inmate mail for possible contraband

TRAINING

• Co's must a 16th week formal training program of COA
• Examples of certain types of training are:
• Firearm,impact weapons,arrest and control training
• Classroom instruction covers prison gangs,transportation
• At the end it's 640 hours of training

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or it's equivalent
• Federal employers require 4-year college degree
• A written exam
• 18-21, drug test
• Background check

SCHOOL'S

• Baker college offers:
• Either positions in state,federal, or even private
• Fresno city college offers:
• 240 hours of training certified by (STC)
• Summer college also offers training
