Biography:
Tim Flannery was born on the 28th of October 1956, in Melbourne, Australia. He raised by a catholic family, in the suburb of Sandringham. I -there- learned to fish & Scuba Dive. In doing so he became aware of the pollution affecting Marine regions. Therefor spawned his career in being an environmentalist.
Tim Flannnery is an Australian palaeontologist & mamologist.
He is also a passionate environmentalist. He once wrote a book encompassing as many extinct species as he could. This book was called: "The gap in nature."
Flannnerys early works with mammalogy included the evolution of mammals in Australasia.
In the work he described 29 new kangaroo species. His work in mammalogy prompted David Attenborough to say that he was "in league of the all time great explorers, like Dr. David Livingstone.
In 2011, Flannery was made chief Commissioner of the Climate Commission.
Although last year he was fired from that position by the (then) new federal environment minister, Greg Hunt.
