THE HISTORY OF THE SYRIAN PROTESTS

  • Syria's 'revolution' began with protests against the president on March 15 2011.
  • The people of Syria demand democracy for their country
  • The Syrian government denies to change anything.
  • The government retaliated by using military force on the people
  • This has started a civil war

TODAY IN SYRIA

  • No supplies are getting besieged Homs between regime
  • Syria is currently split into two governments and the country is in a civil war
  • President Bashar Assad is currently in charge of Syria and its government
  • As of 2014 there will be elections in Syria
  • People in Syria want to be able to choose a leader that can give them more freedom as a country

THE UNITED STATES IN SYRIA

  • The United States consistently sends troops into Syria
  • They want Syria to be free of their corrupt government much like the people do

SYRIA RECAP

  • This is definitely a revolution in Syria, the country wants democracy so bad, it has become a war
  • They have succeeded enough to be aloud an election, but not 100% what they want from the government
  • Riots continue to happen in Syria, but the election is good step in the peoples direction.
