• Took place on September 17,1862.
• It was the bloodiest one day battle of the civil war and the us history.

• Each side lost and gained ground.
• Union reinforcements arrived and
• helped push the confederates into retreating.

BATTLE OF VICKDBURGH

• It lasted about 6 weeks
• Hunger forced the confederates to surrender.
• The Mississippi was now under union control.

• Was a army volunteer and worked for the Red Cross
• She formed the the American Red Cross

THE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS

• The Gettysburg address was a speech given by Lincoln himself .
• He wanted us to know that everybody is created equal and free.
