CHILDHOOD

  • He was born in Chicago,IL on December 5th 1901.
  • In 1906, he moved to a farm in MO and first learned how to draw.
  • The farm failed in 1911 and then he moved to Kansas City.
  • There, he delivered papers for his father and fell in love with movies.
  • He moved back to Chicago in 1917.
  • He drew cartoons for his yearbook and took art classes.

YOUNG ADULT YEARS

  • He joined the American Ambulance Corps in France as WW1 ended.
  • He kept his day job but also made Laugh-O-Gram until bankruptcy.
  • At age 21 he moved to California.

HISTORICAL FACTS

  • Parents: Elias Disney & Flora Call
  • Full name: Walter Elias Disney
  • Walt made Laugh-O-Grams with Ub Iwerks.
  • Walt and his brother, Roy, made Disney Bros which was located in Los Angeles (1923).
  • He married Lillian Bounds in 1925.
