  • Health is affected by a number of factors
  • BIOLOGICAL (virus, tumour etc)
  • PSYCHOLOGICAL (stress, thoughts & behaviours etc)
  • SOCIAL (culture, economic status etc)

APPLICATIONS OF HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY

  • Illness prevention/health promotion
  • Managing the effects of illness
  • Patient-clinician communication and adherance
