  • The city of Constantinople is the most important city of the Byzantine Empire

527AD JUSTINAIN BECOMES EMPEROR

  • Took bake almost all of Italy.
  • Created the Justinian Code.
  • Built many baths, schools, aqueducts, law courts, amd hospitals.
  • Justinian lead the Byzantine Empire greatness during his time as emperor.

532AD THE NIKA REBELLION

  • Caused the destuction of the Hagia Sophia.
  • Roited in the Hippodrome.
  • 30000 rebels were slaughtered.
  • This riot was part of reasons that the Byzantine empire fell

565AD JUSTINIAN DIES

  • His death leaves the Kieven state to fall under his sons control

1100'SAD THE CITY OF MOSCOW IS DOUNDED

  • Becomes a crude village.
  • Become capital of present bay Russia.
  • Ivan the first comes to power and lead the city to greatness.
  • The city is very important in Russian history.
