VERB

  • part of speech: verb.
  • funtion: a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence.
  • sentance: Lilly had to RINSE out her paint brush before putting it away.

NOUN

  • part of speech: noun
  • funtion: a word used to identify a person, place and/or thing.
  • sentance: my dog caught a SNOWFLAKE on his tongue while outside.

ADJECTIVE

  • part of speech: adjective.
  • function: an adjective is a describing word.
  • sentance: the goat at the zoo was very UGLY to me.

ADVERB

  • part of speech: adverb
  • function: a word that simplifies the meaning of a verb, adjective, or adverb expressing place, time ect.
  • sentence: most kids OFTEN eat eggs as a healthy breakfest in the morning.

PRONOUN

  • part of speech: pronoun
  • function: a word that substitutes for a noun or noun phrase.
  • sentence: on Valentines Day, HE told HIS girlfriend that HE loved HER.

PREPOSITION

  • part of speech: preposition
  • function: expressing spatial or temporal relations, or mark various syntactic and semantic roles.
  • sentence: the weather IN May went FROM very warm to rainy within a day.

CONJUNCTION

  • part of speech: conjunction
  • function: a word that connects words, sentences, phrases or clauses.
  • sentence: i tried my hardest on my book report, BUT i failed.

INTERJECTION

  • part of speech: interjection
  • function: a word used to express an emotion or sentiment
  • sentence: the family all yelled CHEERS as they toasted to a new year.
