STAGES OF MITOSIS

BY DANIEL BETETA, SAIRA HAQUE, DAKOTA MARTIN

INTERPHASE

  • Considered as the resting phase for the
  • Cell.
  • Has three phases.

PROPHASE

  • Each chromosome is composed of two
  • Longitudinal halves.
  • Divides the chromosomes into two arms.

METAPHASE

  • Spindle fibers enter the nuclear region,
  • Extend from the centrioles.
  • Moves the chromosomes near the middle.

ANAPHASE

  • The centromere divides and the two
  • Chromatids separate from each other.
  • Forming two identical daughter cells.

TELOPHASE

  • The chromosomes separate from the cell.
  • This phase ends mitosis.

CYTOKINESIS

  • Begins the formation of two separate
  • Cells.
  • The cells now develop nuclei.
