Slide Notes

We have a need for early childhood/parenting education in Denton. There are several great resources already in town and many people & organizations that could reach out better/more. Many parents are not aware of existing resources. Many children are coming to kindergarten unprepared not only educationally but nutritionally, emotionally, socially. How can we help parents?

My own experience... I have college education, lived here 4 years and I'm still unaware of many resources.

WHY MEET?

  • Use Coalition / UW to validate survey

  • Involve social/religious agencies who can help
  • Develop needs/haves from data gathered
What are our shared goals? How could we combine resources? Each group is unique, has its own agenda, but where could we collaborate?
