AGGRAVATE vs. IRRITATE

AGGRAVATE

  • To make worse
  • Ex1: The lack of the rain aggravated the dryness of the crops
  • Ex2: The doctor aggravated the pain of his patients by giving wrong medicine
  • Ex3: The kid aggravated the situation by saying that its not his fault

IRRITATE

  • to Annoy
  • Ex1: The boy is irritating to me
  • Ex2: The loud bark of the dog was irritating
  • Ex3: It was irritating that the teacher gave us homework before vecation

IRREGARDLESS & SUPPOSABLY

REGARDLESS

  • In any events / even though
  • Ex1: Regardless of being sick the girl went to school
  • Ex2: The boy is going to wear his favorite sweater regardless of the hot weather
  • Ex3: Sally is going on vecation regardless of her boss opinion

SUPPOSABLY

SUPPOSEDLY

  • According to what is assumed or believed
  • SupposABLY is NOT a word

IMPLY & INFER

Imply = suggest indirectly
Infer = to come to a conclusion
These two words are interchangeable
