Trees purify the air for us, by 'breathing' which is absorbing carbon dioxide and then producing oxygen. This is called photosynthesis.
A single tree can absorb 10 pounds of air pollutants a year, and produce nearly 260 pounds of oxygen- enough to support two people. Trees also clean our atmosphere by absorbing airborne particles, and by absorbing ozone, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, and other greenhouse gases.
So without trees we wouldn't be able to live. Because they clean/purify our atmosphere.
Photosynthesis: the process in which green plants use energy from the sun to transform water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and organic compounds.
