Was used for loosening dirt so the farmers could plant the seeds.

The wheel

  • One of the most important invention.
  • Was used for transportation and carrying.
  • Also many invention later are based on the wheel.
  • Without it we would have to walk everywhere.

Calendar

Based off the cycles of the moon and had 12 months.

Cuneiform was the Sumerians way of writing and was up to about 1,200 different characters. This was performed with clay bricks and reeds.

The sailboat was used for transportation and trade on the Tigris and Eurohrates but, would only go with the wind.

Code of Hammarabi was the laws of the land and each one had a punishment much like ours today.

Irrigation system this was used to water the fields drawn from the river by canals.

Number system

  • Created place value system based on 60.
  • Created mutlipaction and division tables.
  • Created the 60- second minute and 60 minute hour.
  • They also created the 360 degree circle.
