THEY LIVED IN...

TEMPORARY HOUSES MADE FROM BRANCHES AND MATS OF TULE.

They were expert fisherman and also hunted deer, seals, sea lions, sea otter, duck and other sea fowl.

Their villages were about 100 people and their oral history was told through stories of elders and shaman. These shaman often used local plants to create trances.

Acorn mush was eaten and also used to create a mildew-like substance that acts like penicillin.

LEAVE NO TRACE

THEY BELIEVED STRONGLY IN "LEAVING NO FOOTSTEPS".

They rubbed mugwort on their bodies and used sweat lodges to get rid of their human smell before hunting.
