John Lennon formed a group called the "Quarrymen". He then invited Paul McCartney. George Harrison, who rode on the bus to Liverpool with McCartney, was also invited. The band then changed their name to the Beatles and went through a couple of drummers before Ringo Starr. The group was formed in 1960.

This gave other British music artists opportunities and inspiration to follow their footsteps. They have also introduced new instruments to the music industry and sold 600 million records. The Beatles have made an impact in the music society and have influenced many artists. Their music is still covered and remains popular today.
