Untitled Slide

  • Process that converts sugar to ATP
  • ATP is an energy form our cells can use
  • Chemical equation??

THE SYSTEMS IN HUMAN BODIES ARE:

SKELETAL

  • To support and protect

DIGESTIVE

  • Physically and chemically break down food
  • Absorb nutrients from food into the body

EXCRETORY

  • Filters blood to remove wastes
  • Main organ - kidney, bladder
  • Tissues - ureter, urethra

ENDOCRINE

  • Release hormones in response to changes
  • Organs: hypothalamus, pituitary, adrenal etc

NERVOUS

  • Detect internal and externalstimuli
  • Respond to stimuli
  • Organ: brain
  • Tissue: spinal cord, nerves

MUSCULAR

  • Special contractile tissue attached to skeleton
  • Moves the body

CARDIOVASCULAR

  • Transports oxygen and nutrients to cells
  • Transports waste products to excretory organs
