A pronoun is a substitute for a noun or a noun phrase. There are multiple types of pronouns for example personal, relative, interrogative, demonstrative, and indefinite pronouns.

  • I, you, he, she, it, we
  • They, me, him, her
  • Us, them, everyone,
  • Nothing, nobody
  • Everything, someone



An antecedent is a word, phrase, or a clause to which a pronoun refers. A pronoun takes it's meaning from the antecedent.
