  • Put wisconsin on the map for muscle cars
  • Gave the U.S army the Willys and Humvee
  • Created a vehicle big enough for Arnold Schwartzenegger

BACKGROUND

  • Started in 1954 by Nash-Kelvinator
  • And Hudson
  • In 1967 they entered the muscle car industry.

NASH-KELVINATOR

  • 1937 merger between Nash Motors and Kalvinator co.
  • Nash was started in Kenosha, Wi in 1916 by former GM prez Charles W. Nash
  • They were defunct in 1954 after the creation of AMC.

HUDSON

  • Founded in 1909 by Joseph Hudson.
  • It was founded in Detroit, Mi
  • It was also defunct in 1954 when AMC was created.

  • 1952: Jeep Cj begins being manufactured.
  • 1954: begining of AMC still usung Nash and Hudson
  • 1958: The brands Hudson and Nash are no longer available

1960'S

  • 1964: Rambler still making cars
  • 1967: AMC Javelin joins the muscle car race

1970'S

  • 1971: The Gremlin begins being produced
  • 1975: The Pace hits the assembly line
  • 1979: The Gremlin stops being produced

1980'S

  • 1980: The Pacer is no longer being produced
  • 1981: AMC Eagle AWD station wagon
  • 1985: AM general (Humvee) starts
  • 1989: sold to chrysler, then called Eagle
