MONEY

• The belief that money is the root of all happiness is idolatry because only God can give us true happiness
• By obsessing over wealth, we are "worshipping" it

FAME

• We all want recognition for the actions we complete, but that means we are idolizing ourselves or others who are already famous in order to be like them

ENTERTAINMENT

• We may put things such as social media, video games, or even Netflix before other things in our lives
• This is a form of idolatry because we neglect our family, friends, and even God for the sake of our entertainment

I Am

• In the documentary we watched, Tom Shadyac was rich and famous - it seemed he had everything we desire in our society today
• But, he was not fully happy because wealth and fame only give us temporary happiness
• By selling his mansion, private jet, and even his car, Tom has been able to find true happiness in God
