Family Traditions
We always celebrate Christmas the night before. We make it a huge deal, we eat a huge dinner and open gifts. And my sister usually makes homemade recipes and we enjoy them as a family.

My family is polish and Croatian. My grandma and great aunt came here from Poland, and suffered through a lot to get here. We try to keep our traditions alive, but there are so many that we don't always get to all of them.

MOST OF MY FAMILY LIVES IN CHICAGO

My sister was always busy when I was younger and the only time we really got to bond was when we were baking stuff together. So that time always meant a lot to me.

Better Than Anything Cake
Ingredients: 1 box of Devils food cake mix and ingredients found on box, 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk, 12 oz jar of caramel ice cream topping,8 oz container of cool whip topping, 1 bag of Heath toffee chips.

STEPS

• Bake devils food cake as directions require, then let cool for 15 mins
• Poke holes in cake using handle or spatula/wooden spoon
• Pour all of the sweetened condensed milk all over the cake(and in holes)
• Repeat those same steps for the caramel (leaving some for toppings)
• Store cake overnight in fridge

STEPS AFTER NIGHT IN FRIDGE

• Spread entire container of cool whip over cake
• Slightly warm remaining caramel and drizzle over cool whip
• Put toffee bits on top of cake
• Keep cool until served, then put leftovers back in fridge
