MANOR

How were Vikings different from earlier Germanic groups that invaded Europe?

They were very fast in their attacks, retreating before locals could mount a defense

How was a manor largely self sufficient both militarily and economically during the early Middle Ages?

They grew their own food and vassals were required to serve in the military

What benefits do you think a medieval manor provided the serfs who live there?

Serfs were fed, clothed, and cared for, and they cannot be sold or traded like a slave.
