ASSESS

  • Definition: When you assess something, you estimate its value or ability.
  • EX. Letter grades help parents assess how well their child is doing in school.
  • By their ratio, batting average or by their skill.

COMPENSATE

  • Define: When you compensate for something that you lack, you make up for it.
  • EX. I compensate for my skills for football.
  • You are making up for something.

DETERIORATED

  • Define: Something that has deteriorated became worse or inferior in condition, value, or character.
  • The corpse deteriorated after a long time
  • Rotten

DEVASTATING

  • Define: Something that is devastating is overwhelming or destructive.
  • The oil spill was devastating for the wildlife.
  • Mud slides

IMPLEMENT

  • Define: To implement a plan is to put it into effect or make it happen.
  • The parks & Rec organization plans to implement having games duing the week.
  • School baseball team

PERIPHERAL

  • Define: Peripheral vision refers to the outer edges of where you can see.
  • I saw the tornado in my peripheral vision.

  • Define: Potential means "possibility."
  • He had the potential to hit a dingger!

  • Define: The summit is the highest point of a hill or mountain.
  • We would climb to the summit of Mt. St. Helens
