Explanation in water Cycle

  • Precipitation- we observe precipitation by examining
  • rain or snowfall. Any other form of precipitation like
  • hail.
  • Infiltration-  we can observe infiltration by examining
  • any elevation of the back up under rain.  - Andrew-

pg. 2

  • Evaporation- we can observe evaporation by
  • looking at the water level of a pool. During
  • hot days, some water will evaporate.
  • Condensation- we can observe condensation by  comparing
  • it to a bathroom mirror after a hot shower. Its collects water.

Relation of Bio and Water Cycle

  • In the water cycle, the energy is moving by the mass
  • never stays the same, first there is a body of water.
  • Then it evaporates into a gas. After it will fall down as rain.
  • The ground absorbs the water as it infiltrates into the
  • body or water, restoring the cycle.-Lucia

Biogeochemical

  • Substance turnover or cycling of substances in a pathway by which a chemical substance moves through both biotic and abiotic compartments.
  • --Isabel---

Matter in Water Cycle

  • evaporation and condensation these are functions of temperature differences only and can cause water vapor to move in any direction what so ever.

Energy in Water Cycle

  • very light breeze as warm air moves up and cold one moves down.

1st Law

  • Energy cannot be created or destroyed but can only be changed from one form to another. The amount of energy in the universe is constant. No system can use or release more energy than it takes in.

2nd Law

  • a natural thermodynamic process, there is an increase in the sum of the entropies of the participating systems. The second law is an empirical finding that has been accepted as an axiom of thermodynamic theory.
