Why the Nile was
important
The Nile was important because it allowed the Egyptians to travel down river towards neighbouring settlements. The Nile was also pretty much the only way for the Egyptians to grow crops and it was also a source of fresh water

  • Frankincense
  • Hemp
  • Lapis lazuli

Frankincense

The aroma of frankincense is said to have healing properties and is used in religious rituals

Ivory

Ivory is used for decorating and decorative statues

Metal

The Egyptians traded copper silver and gold as well as semi precious gems

Lapis lazuli

Lapis lazuli is traded by Egyptians and is said to be made of the hair of the sun goddess

Hemp

Hemp was used by Egyptians to make rope and clothing
