Important Dates / Timelines

  • Benefits start on the 1st after a month of employment
  • You have 31 days from hire to enroll/opt out
  • Coverage goes through Aug 31 for 10 month employees
  • Open enrollment is in Nov. and is effective Jan 1

Opt Out

  • During Open Enrollment or now
  • Get $50/mo
  • Do not have to pay premiums
  • Proof of other insurance required.

Wellness

  • Gym memberships
  • On site programs e.g. Yoga, Zumba, etc.
  • Individual programs e.g. mental health counseling, tobacco cessation, etc.
  • Physical fitness = mental fitness

How to Pick Health/Dental Plans

  • Look at coverage options and estimate usage
  • Look at doctors and network
  • Look at premiums

Examples of Plan Differences

  • Dental - orthodontic and oral surgery coverage
  • Health - in vitro fertilization coverage, DME, others
  • Annual Deductable, Out of Pocket Max...
