MOVIE CLIP VS. GRAPHIC SYMBOL
What are the main differences between the 2 symbols?
MOVIE CLIP
- even with one frame, the animation still plays
- can not see animation play when more frames are added
- can see animation play when you view the movie
- only has a swap button (in properties)
- use when making animations for a game
GRAPHIC SYMBOL
- when you scrub through the timeline, you can see the symbol moving
- swap button, loop button, play once, and single frame (in properties)
- can not attach code
- need to have the same number of frames on scene that are in animation
What are the properties associated with each symbol?
Movie Clip
- swap button
- animation continuously plays even with one frame
- in order to view you have to hit command enter
Graphic Symbol
- swap button
- loop- continuously plays animation
- single frame- doesn't play animation
- can scrub through to view animation
- can hit enter to view
WHAT DOES ONE OFFER THAT THE OTHER MAY NOT?

- using a graphic symbol gives you more control
- with a graphic symbol you can continuously know what your animation is doing during each frame
- A movie clip can be played even if it only has one frame on the stage
