PRESENTATION OUTLINE

1920 IN AMERICA

Back in 1920 two Amendments were passed that changed America

The first Amendment that was passed in 1920 was the 18 Amendment which prohibited the manufacture, transportation, and sale of alcohol

The 18th Amendment was hard for law enforcement to enforce because lots of people went to Speakeasies which were secret parties where people went and would drink

It was also hard to enforce this Amendment because the Mafia would bribe law enforcement so they could sell the alcohol

The 18th amendment proved to be unsuccessful and was later on repealed in 1933

The Second Amendment that was passed during 1920 was the 19th Amendment

This Amendment aloud all American women the right to vote

In the year 1920 frank Conrad made the first commercial broadcast and was issued the first radio license known as KDKA

The broadcast was sent out from a Westinghouse electric building in east Pittsburg
