Thomas Edison is know as one of the best inventors in history because he invented the light bulb.

During his childhood he didn't do very well in school so his mom started to teach him at home. He also liked to do experiments in his basement. At the age of twelve he sold fruit snacks and newspapers on a train as a news butcher.
