- The commanding officers to both sides died.
- More than 12,000 American lives were lost.
- More than 110,000 Japanese lives were lost.
The U.S. & U.K. defeated the Japanese.
This was the last primary war against the Japanese. With this win, we were closer to Japan. On August 6, 1945, the U.S. dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima.
