DOCUMENTRY

Wind is a renewable source of electricity. The electricity is made through the power of wind! The electricity is made by windmills. Force hits the rotors and begins to turn the turbines very quickly, this makes electricity.

Wind has been used to make electricity for years but has not always been in the same category .Millions of years ago in ancient Egypt, citizens used wind powered sails to power their boats down the Nile River. Windmills are made in the Middle East.

They look like eggbeaters. They're used for drawing water. This is about k1,500 years ago! Later European people updated the technology and made windmills a bit different to the ones you see today.

This is the way you get wind to turn into electricity. When strong winds blow against the turbines the force turns into motion. All the force that the turbine is making goes through machines to make electricity.

A wind farm is a group of wind turbines like a group of wolfs really. There are nine running wind farms in New York so it is not the most popular source of energy in the world but is.

Well let's look at the drawbacks and why it is not as popular as fossil fuels. People complain that birds get hit by the turbine and get badly hurt. Also the turbines really only work when it is windy.
