That has a disproportionally large effect.
Such species are described as playing a
Critical role in mainaining the structure
Of an ecological community.

WEB OVER CHAIN

Food webs show multiple pathways of
energy transfer and chain only shows
One pathway. Webs are more complex
Rather than food chain which makes them
More stable.

While the keystone is under the least pressure
Of any of the stones in an arch, the arch still collapses
Without it. Ecosystem may experience a dramatic shift
If a keystone species is removed.
