ABU MUSAB AL-ZARQAWI

  • He involved the group with Al Qaeda
  • Through his one visit to a hospital Zarqawi became deeply involved with terrorist plots

THE GROUP NOT ONLY KILLED TROOPS BUT FELLOW MUSLIMS AS WELL

Zarqawi believed that the Shiites were working with the U.S. Against the Sunnis. They thus became insignificant and to him, were no longer Muslims.

AFTER ZARQAWI STARTED WINING

BATTLES HE BECAME A HERO

Fellow Sunnis believed that he was the only one able to eradicate the U.S. Troops.

Although he was leader material Zarqawi had no legitimacy or funding. So when given the chance to join A-Qaeda they jumped for it.

ZARQAWI'S WAR PATH

  • 2004- abducted a repairman and beheaded him on film
  • Provided materials for the assassination of a US diplomat
  • Trained terrorist and created terrorist cells
  • Took place in recent bombing of the Jordan Embassy (Bagdahd)

Soon even Bin Laden could no longer handle Zarqawi. He disowned his group, but it was too late. ISIS already had their own money and was large enough to last on his own.

In 2002, Zarqawi had Laurence Foley, a U.S. diplomat, killed in Jordan to make a statement. To let America know that they will do whatever it takes to win.

They disappeared for awhile, but now ISIS is back and stronger than ever. Constant death threats and the use of social media is a new tactic they have developed.

Troops are currently monitoring and searching for any information they can find on the group. There seems to be no information on who the new leader is or when they plan to attack.

WE KNOW THAT ISIS IS PLANNING TO ATTACK

SO WE NEED TO TAKE ACTION BEFORE THEY DO.
