Asian Carp
They are a big problem in the mississippi river
The Problem
- Asian carp have large appetites
- They also have no naturaul predators
- They out compete with native fish for food
- Asian carp disrupt aquatic ecosystems.
The Problem
- The silver carp can jump out of the water
- They can grow up to 60 pounds
- Silver carp also jump 10ft up in the air
- This threatens river recreation activities
What we are doing to stop them
- Stop the spread through targetted lock closure
- We can also reduce traffic through lock and dams
- Stop them by installing fish barriers

We are makeing new technology to biologically control them.
