  • After accessing the Internet Archive website, I found it friendly and easy to use. The advanced search have many categories like videos and audios that can be filtered and sorted too. Internet Archive believes in the mission that says “universal access to all knowledge”. (Archiveorg, 2015)

Plus it’s less controversial to talk about copyright in Internet Archive, because it is an open library and they are not making money from their library.

2. Project Gutenberg

Project Gutenberg was founded in 1971 and it’s known as the oldest digital library.

Although, Project Gutenberg is a non-profit project they can accept donates of small amounts to help in expanding their project.

The good in this library that mostly the texts that are found are full written and can be assessed in different format.

  • To access Project Gutenberg and get the use of it there is no registration required. The digital materials are well saved with high quality. But in term of use some books are freely used only within US, so readers in other countries should check the copyrights in order to use those books.

Project Gutenberg Website

In Project Gutenberg books can be downloaded in many format. The search results are presented in sort of columns, and can be sorted alphabetically or by release date. After using that digital library I can say that it contains more old books than new released, and more readers are likely to read new books to get new information rather than old ones.
